A running list of things worth celebrating, broken into whatever block of time matches your performance review cycle. Mine is monthly. It takes less than five minutes a week to maintain, and it turns performance review season from a monstrous task into an hour of editing.

Duplicate this to your own Notion space to get started. There is a button at the top right.

How to use it

  1. Set a weekly reminder. Mine is in my to-do list for the end of the week: “add to accomplishments list.” I open this page, scan what’s here, think about the week, and jot down a few bullet points.
  2. Keep it rough. These are quick thoughts, not polished sentences. A few words you’ll understand later is enough.
  3. At review time, start here instead of from a blank page. Turn the bullets into a proper self-review. After each review season, collapse the old section and start a new one.
  4. If you manage people, make one of these per teammate too. Same routine, it has helped me give very in-depth performance reviews, often remembering successes my teammates hadn’t highlighted themselves.

Tip: once the H1 review is done, turn this heading into a toggle heading in Notion (type /toggle heading) so the old notes collapse out of the way.
